Quail Rest, a cottage in the middle of nowhere, offered me the chance to truly disconnect from civilization. No WiFi, no distractions, just me and the great outdoors. It was a refreshing change of pace.
As if I hadn't disconnected enough, they even lacked a decent cell signal. How ever did I survive without constant notifications and social media updates?

Stunning lake views, off-grid cabin with fresh flowers in every room. Morning dips in the lake and afternoon wines on the deck were delightful. Highly recommend for exploring or switching off.
Oh, absolutely nothing! It was just perfect.

We had a fantastic stay at Quail Rest Villa! the location by the lake and surrounded by nature was absolutely breathtaking. Sonja and her daughter were incredibly helpful and welcoming, even guiding us when our navigator took us the wrong way. the cottage itself was cozy, well-decorated, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved the books that provided insights into the country's landscape and history. Despite the clouds hiding Mt Cook, we enjoyed the stunning views and starry nights. Highly recommended!
Everything was great! 👍🏼.

Arrive early and enjoy a boat mooring, stunning views, free WiFi, and a cozy fireplace. All supported by solar. Cons: Who needs shops nearby when you can enjoy the peace and quiet?

Bedroom two at Quail Rest is amazing! The super king bed is so comfy and cozy, I felt like I was sleeping on a fluffy cloud. As a tired traveler, having a good night's sleep was everything for me.
Although I loved everything about the room, the only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the lighting. It felt a bit dim for my liking, but others might enjoy the cozy ambiance it creates.
